TSX Review: Index Closes Higher

, Sep. 3, 2010 (Resource News International) -- The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX)closed
higher on Friday as better than expected U.S. job report was released,
said market watchers.

The S&P/TSX composite index rose 33.83 points or 0.3% to close at
12,144.92 on Friday. Trading Volume was 457.3 million shares, up from
419.1 million shares on Thursday. Advances beat declines 908 to 634.

Eight of the TSX's ten sectoral indexes ended higher on Friday.

Some of the most actively traded stocks included:
Andean Resources---------------- up 45.11% ----- at $ 6.98
Manulife Financial-------------- up 2.88% ----- at $ 13.23

Some of the largest price changes included:

Ventanna Gold------------------- up 11.52 ----- at $ 9.49

Canada's agricultural sector faired as follows:
