Today's Big Gainers: DAL, TBI, ESL, KKD

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) rose more than 3% on Friday after the company said that system traffic in August 2010 increased 1.1 percent compared to August 2009 on a 1.2 percent increase in capacity. Load factor remained flat at 86.5 percent.

TrueBlue, Inc. (NYSE: TBI) soared more than 18% after a government release showed that U.S. employers slashed 54,000 net jobs in August. Economists expected payrolls to drop 120,000. Unemployment rate rose to 9.6% last month, matching expectations.

Shares of Esterline Technologies (NYSE: ESL) jumped more than 8% on Friday, a day after the defense and aerospace contractor reported a quarterly profit that topped analyst expectations and boosted its 2010 earnings outlook above Street view.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. (NYSE: KKD) rallied more than 3% on Friday, a day after the company posted a second quarter profit of $2.2 million, or 3 cents per share. That compares to a loss of $157,000, or break-even per share, in the year-ago quarter.
