Shares of Mosaic Co. (NYSE: MOS) rallied more than 3% on Wednesday on renewed speculation that the company could be a takeover target of mining giant BHP Billiton (NYSE: BHP).

CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. (NYSE: CBG) soared more than 9% Wednesday after the commercial real estate firm announced that it swung to a second-quarter profit on double-digit revenue growth.

Wyndham Worldwide Corp. (NYSE: WYN) surged as much as 9% on Wednesday after the hotel operator posted better-than-expected second-quarter results and boosted its full-year outlook.

Silicon Image Inc (NASDAQ: SIMG) shot up as high as 28% after the chipmaker reported that it swung to a surprise quarterly profit on strong sales growth and issued third-quarter revenue outlook that topped analysts' estimates.

Waters Corp. (NYSE: WAT) rallied more than 5% after laboratory-equipment maker said that its second-quarter earnings rose 7.8% to  $84.9 million, or 90 cents a share, from $69.9 million, or 72 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter. Adjusted income climbed to 93 cents a share from 78 cents a share. Revenue grew to $391.1 million from $362.8 million. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of 90 cents a share on revenue of $389 million.
